How does it work?

What if you could entice customers to visit your website for 24 days in a row and get them to share it with their friends? With a well-made advent calendar on your webpage, it is entirely possible. From December 1 to December 24 your visitors can open a new window daily. Your job is to make them want to do it. You have a daily opportunity to:

  • Give your customers a new offer
  • Hold a competition
  • Introduce new products (perhaps with a discount if they buy within a week)
  • Share information about your company or share memories from the past year and visions for the coming one

If you have attractive content in your calendar your customers are to come back day after day. But you must, of course market your calendar by linking clearly from your home page and advertise it in newsletters, etc.

If you have a big company, you can also have a Christmas calendar on the intranet where you for example can introduce the different sections of the company and send Christmas greetings. Or maybe a calendar with Christmas greetings and lighthearted information to your suppliers.

Content

The calendar consists of:

A calendar page:

This is the home page for the Advent calendar. It usually consists of 24 windows. Click on a window to open the window page. You upload your own background image to the calendar.

24 window pages

Each window contains a picture and a short text (e.g. a small verse) where you have the opportunity to use HTML, for example, links. Alternatively, you can use a YouTube video instead of a picture.

A stop page

If you try to sneak peek inside a window before the right day you will of course be sent to the stop page. You can customize the text and image on the stop page if you want.

How do I create my own calendar?

After you have ordered your calendar you will create the calendar content yourself using our user friendly interface that you can see in the video at the top of this page. The interface consists of:

  • Calendar settings: Here you set the calendar's name and more information about the publisher. You upload your own calendar photo and you can set the time when the windows can be opened (premium). You also have the option to change colors, font and background for the window pages.
  • Stop page settings: Here you set the text and choose the image for the stop page.
  • Window pages: Upload a picture or link to a Youtube video on each window page. You should also write a small text. You have 24 slots to fill from December 1 to December 24. If you have a premium account, you can disable the windows that you don't want to use.
  • Preview: Here you can preview the calendar, the stop pages and the window pages before they can be opened by the visitors.

Please note that everything does not need to be ready by December 1. Since it is not possible to open windows in advance, you can fill the calendar with content as you go.
